A few years ago I started a "Happiness" journal. I don't remember where the idea came from, but it was probably someone very smart. I love SIMPLE solutions/habits with BIG impacts. This was one of those.
Every night, I write one sentence...just one. The only stipulation is that it has to be something good about my idea. I started 2 years ago and have completed one entire journal and am now half way into my second one.
What amazes me most about this habit is that no matter how tired I am or how frustrated I am because my day didn't go as I had planned or even when something bad actually happened like a family member was admitted to the hospital, I was always able to find one thing that was good.....always.
Some days it was easier than others. But there was always something good. I will credit this habit in making me a happier person overall. It's not the only thing that helps and I am sometimes not happy. But overall, I find it beneficial to find the good in the day before I head off to sleep.
It makes me happy.
Eat well. Move well. Sleep well. Soar on.
