I wish I knew the person who said this quote, because their wisdom speaks volumes. As we are introduced to the new year and people work on their resolutions, may we all be reminded that the only grass that needs tending is your own. Once yours is green then you are able to help others tend theirs.
It isn't a comparison of whose is better or if we are the same. In fact, there are many different kinds of grass. It may take something different for your grass to thrive than it does for someone with a different genetic code. Some may thrive in drought conditions and some may thrive in heavy sun.
In fact, the only person who can discover or know what is best is that person. Let us not compare ourselves to each other so much as be inspired to try to be the best for ourselves and help others who want our help. Be open minded that what makes you thrive may not be exactly what other people need.
The right movement for me may not be the best movement for you. The foods that make us each healthiest may only be similar in that it is real food. I love salad greens, but your body may thrive on cucumbers. We can celebrate our likeness for sure, but appreciate how we are all different.
Be inspired enough to tend your own grass because it only matters what your neighbor's grass is doing if they need your help.
Eat well, Move well. Sleep well. Soar on.
